The Government states

The Australian Government has short listed some policies that need to be adapted to before you draw a travel insurance policy. Some of them are listed below:
  • Dependents or children below the age of 21 will be considered free for insurance.As they are financially dependent on their parents still but they will be duly issued a certificate of insurance in their name.
  • If you are travelling out of Australia the policy will not be issued to you.
  • This travel insurance policy will be meant especially for people living in Australia unless you opt for another policy that says Non-Residents of Australia.
  • You can seek an insurance policy for two people together also, even if that means you are not related to each other.





  • You are to purchase this policy at the time you undertake tavelling not for a date prior to that. Some people draw a policy a year ahead of the actual date of traveling.
  • The policy is subject to expiry only once the traveler is back to Australia from his trip. This will happen only after a stipulated period of time.
  • All the policies that are mentioned in the document will be in accordance with the rules laid down by the Australian Government and only once it has been verified will the policy be issued.


  • Documents you need

    There are a few documents that will be involved in the process of receiving the travel insurance policy. You will need to show a document that is a proof of your residentship in Australia besides that there are three forms that need to be filled by you like a fom of claim, medical form and of course the application form. If youa e regular tax payer you are also given the right to cancel out the policy taken and opt for another policy that offers better privilege to the customer.
